In the vast majority of women, regular prenatal care promotes a healthy pregnancy and delivery without complications. However, some women are at increased risk for complications in pregnancy for a variety of reasons. Risk factors for a high-risk pregnancy can include pre-existing health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes or chronic medical conditions; multiple births; young or old maternal age; or complications in a previous pregnancy.

Dr. Barreth works closely with the family doctors in our region to provide continuity of care during high risk pregnancies.
